Island Xtacy Sound System started in Yokohama in 2005 as a vintage sound system prepared for Sound Reinforcement, which is rare in the domestic market. It is designed for the purpose of bringing back Hi-Fi/Audio in the golden age of 1950s~70s to the contemporary context and also of providing the cutting edge dance music with the rich sound. For the pre-amplifier, vintage equipments are used such as Bozak, the world’s first DJ mixer, and Audioarts rotary mixer, which is highly ranked as a broadcasting equipment. Energy-saving Bozak amplifier and tube-amplifier, both of which are reassembled from junk equipments, are employed for the power amplifier. Outboards are varied from Urei, dbx, and Audimation. And the speaker system which combines JBL double woofer and Bozak alnico magnets is in the process of construction. It is aimed; to provide powerful and rich sound, to be able to have a conversation in front of a speaker at full blast (no need for earplugs), not to experience ear buzzing, to be capable of recreating recording atmosphere. We truly aspire to realize the sound one can dance to while enjoying the music.
